The 2024 NSW Cross Country Relays are coming up soon!

This will be held on the Saturday 1st June at The Armory, Newington.

This is always a great event for atmosphere and club spirit. It is for ALL ages and abilities. A unique opportunity to participate in a team event in what is predominantly an individual sport, so make the most of it!

Age Groups include: U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U20, Open, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+ and 80+ for both male & female. Generally, teams will be made up of athletes in their natural age group and gender however juniors can compete up an age, masters down an age and up to two females can make up a shortfall in a male team, if necessary. All athletes are eligible for the open category.

Distances run at these championships will be as follows:
4 x 1.5km Relay- U10, U12 Male & Female
4 x 2km Relay – U14, U16, Masters 70-79, 80+ Male & Female
4 x 4km Relay- U18, U20, Open & Masters (30-69) Male & Female

All teams will be selected and entered by the club and will be based on the merit of performances at a variety of events at both club and club representative events in 2024.

Eligibility – Please note that to be able to compete you must be a registered member of Sutherland District Athletics Club as either an Open, Dual, Concession or Winter (previously ‘RunNSW’) member.

NOTE: Athletes with a Community Membership are INELIGIBLE to compete as this is a State Championship.

Nomination Process:
If you are interested in representing Sutherland, you can express interest in the following ways;

1. Complete this form answering each question here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1doHjLtShRZVA1qscSyZCXeVWygHiHQpvh-46oOJrnjI/edit?

2. Email [email protected] with your name, age group* and if you are willing to run twice (only if required) by Sunday 28th May.

3. Alternatively, you can tell us in person at club cross country this Saturday 11th or on Saturday 25th May.
*If you are unsure what age group you are in, please put your date of birth.

NOTE: All athletes must inform us directly of their intention to compete. Please do not rely on others to communicate your availability.

Team Lists and team member information will be posted on the club’s Facebook page and emailed to all members. Each and every effort will be made to have all athletes run in a team. If an athlete is not in a team they can still run the first leg as an individual.

All team entry fees (including individuals) will be fully subsidised by the club.
