Kailin was training by herself, when some friends from school asked her to come along to training. Since then, her times have come down and her race craft has gone from strength to strength.
Pre race, Kailin likes to eat rice cakes with cottage cheese and banana – it’s a snack that has lots of energy and carbs in one.
“It’s yum and easy to have. It’s my afternoon tea favourite.”
Her favourite dinner is lamb and veggies (including sweet potato).
“I’m not really into dessert, but yoghurt and fruit are good.”
Kailin has some big goals for this year:
1. to get to state cross country
2. would like to place in the Sutho to Surf (u/16s age group) … at age 14!
Kailin’s running heroes include American steeplechaser, Colleen Quigley, as well as SDAC’s own Eloise Wellings.
Kailin will certainly be one to watch.
